Call for mobilization of Québec civil society project proposals within the framework of the COP24
The Government of Québec is launching a two-part call for projects (French) in regard to the 24st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP24) to facilitate the participation of Quebec civil society:
Deadline : July 20, 2018
The Government of Québec views the fight against climate change as a fundamental and top priority issue for Québec’s future. Working proactively with its partners, Québec will continue to move forward in order to accomplish even more in this sector.
With income derived mainly from the carbon market, the Government of Québec supports companies, Québec municipalities and citizens in the transition to a low-carbon world. These revenues are reinvested in implementation of the measures set out in the 2013-2020 Climate Change Action Plan will enable it to reduce its GHG emissions and better adapt to the consequences of climate change.
These measures call upon innovative solutions from scientists and entrepreneurs and open the door to developing Québec expertise in cutting-edge niche markets that will enable Québec to accelerate its shift to a sustainable, prosperous and competitive economy. The fight against climate change is a promising pathway towards developing an economy that is both robust and low carbon.
Working together, we can fight climate change and ensure a better quality of life for our children. Let’s do it for them!
